Welcome!

Dear Parents, Students, and Families,
Welcome to 4th grade and the 2017-2018 school year!  Fourth grade is a busy year, where students are expected to begin thinking more critically, working more independently, and taking more responsibility for their own learning.  As your child’s teacher, my goal is to provide a classroom environment where every child is able to meet his or her academic potential and all students have the opportunity for personal and social growth. I am very excited to be your child’s teacher this year and to be a part of his or her success.

As both a teacher and a parent, I know that communication is the key to a great home-school partnership, and I encourage you to contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns. While my preferred method of communication is through email, you should also feel free to send either of me a note or leave a message in the school office.  I will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Attached to this letter, you will find copies of classroom expectations and discipline, grading, and homework policies for you to go over with your child.  Please review these and sign and return them as soon as possible.  Also, please don’t forget to review our district dress code, since that continues be a requirement this year.  As always, if you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Once again, WELCOME to fourth grade!!  I look forward to an exciting and rewarding year with you and your child.
