Daily Update 9/5
Hi Parents,
My apologies for the late posting! Tonight's homework is page 9 in the textbook. Some students are struggling a bit with recalling place value from 3rd grade, so please feel free to give some support. Hopefully, our Think Central accounts will be available soon so that students will be able to watch lesson videos and get help at home.
This week in 4th grade, we continue to assess, but we've also begun working in our reading curriculum, which focuses on a "Mentor Text" each week to teach writing and reading skills. Our selection this week is First Day Jitters.
In Math, we've kicked off our first chapter in the curriculum, which focuses on place value, addition, and subtraction within one million. There are some practice game links on the "Extra Practice" tab on this blog.
Finally, students in Mrs. Thompson's class will be working on science, with a focus on scientific inquiry, and students in Mrs. Vermillion's class will begin learning about the regions of the U.S. The classes will switch in a few weeks to learn the other content.
Finally, a permission slip for the MFLAC and some PTO forms were sent home today. Please check your child's take-home folder and send these back ASAP.
Have a wonderful evening!
