Update 10/30
Hi Parents!
Tonight's homework is page 135. This is the last section in Chapter 2, so tomorrow we'll begin preparing for our Chapter test. Students will complete a practice test in class, we'll go over it on Wednesday, and then we'll have the test on Thursday. Please use your Think Central resources and your child's practice test to help him/her study.
In reading this week, we're working on Main Idea/Detail, Compare/Contrast, and Theme. Our whole group mentor text is Verdi by Janell Cannon. We're also using this text as a focus for our grammar; this week's focus skill is comparative and superlative adjectives.
In Social Studies, Ms. Vermillion's class is still working on their Native American research projects. Mrs. Thompson's class is investigating landslides and is working on designing ways people might protect their homes from this type of disaster
Finally, if you haven't yet returned your child's permission slip for our study trip on 11/17, please do that ASAP. We need to provide an accurate count of sack lunches for the cafeteria. We are also still in need of 2 chaperones for each class..
