Update 2/26
Hi Parents,
Tonight's homework is in section 7.5, page 413. We're continuing to work on adding and subtracting fractions. I'd also encourage students to watch the instructional video for section 7.7 to prepare for tomorrow's lesson.
In another week or so, we will be beginning a new science unit. We're lucky enough to have received some new curriculum resources that we'd like to try out, and to the end, we're asking each student to bring in one pocket folder with prongs. We'll be using these to create a science journal. If you're unable to provide one of these, please don't worry, since I have a collection of those here in the classroom that I'll be happy to share with your child.
Also, don't forget that students should be logging all their reading minutes! The student who turns in a log (with adult signatures) showing the greatest amount of reading time will win a prize from our Read Across America committee :-) Also, tomorrow is Crazy Mayzie Day, so send your child to school in his/her craziest hat!
Finally, don't forget that Friday this week is a no-school day for students and a conference day for teachers. If you have any concerns and would like to meet with me, please contact me to schedule a conference.
Have a great evening!
