Update 4/16
Hi Parents!
Welcome back to school! I hope you all had a wonderful spring break! Today, students took a pretest for Unit 7 in math. There is no official homework, but students are encouraged to begin previewing the content in chapters 8 and 9. Also, a number of students did not take or did not finish the chapter 11 test on Friday, 4/6. I didn't want to make them jump right back into it today, but I've asked them to review the Chapter 11 content tonight and prepare for a make up test tomorrow.
In ELA, we are working on making connections during our reading. Students are working with partners to read informational texts and share their text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections. We're also continuing to work on our fractured fairy tale compositions.
Don't forget our field trip to Topsail Island this Friday. I believe all students indicated on the permission slip that they would bring a lunch, so please make sure your child packs one on Friday. There won't be any other place to get food. We're looking forward to having an awesome time!
